General Description

The king mackerel Scomberomorus cavalla is a migratory species of mackerel of the western Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. It is an important species to both the commercial and recreational fishing industries.

According to a research carried out by the US Food and Drug Administration, King Mackerel is one of the 4 types of fish among those analysed with the highest concentration of mercury and thus not fit for the nutrition of pregnant women and children.
